Born in Shanghai and raised in Los Angeles by overworked parents, Jane was a latchkey kid who spent countless hours watching films and TV shows she probably shouldn’t have at such a young age—sparking her early fascination with the power of storytelling.

Known for her deeply human work, Jane’s curiosity and love of psychology draw her to themes of ambition, audacity, and resilience. She focuses on people and narratives that are often overlooked, using a poetic style and visual language that invite viewers to see the world through a different lens—unfolding cinematically through intimate emotions and evocative movement.

Her work has been showcased by Vimeo Staff Picks, SHOTS New Directors to Watch, BuzzFeed, Nowness, Booooooom, and CBS. Some of her accolades include multiple Clio Awards, a 1.4, an Effie, and the AICP+DGA Commercial Directors Diversity Program (CDDP) Fellowship. She was also featured in the SHOOT New Directors Showcase and recognized as a Young Guns 18 Finalist.
