Rep Micah Austin

Born in Shanghai and raised in Los Angeles, Jane decided she was going to be a director at the age of twelve. People laughed, said it was impossible and warned that it was no place for an immigrant Chinese girl, but that challenge and immense desire to prove people wrong only fueled her fire. Since then, Jane has worked relentlessly in the industry from the bottom up, knocking down barriers and creating opportunities for herself when presented with roadblocks.

Jane’s narratives often speak to the topic of empathy and connection, whether with others or through one’s own subconscious. Her distinctive and poetic style and aesthetics bring the viewer in to see through a different lens and perspective, cinematically unfolding stories through intimate movement.

Her work has been showcased on CBS, Buzzfeed, Nowness, booooooom, Vimeo Staff Picks, as well as receiving 5 Clio Sports awards for her Chevy Mascots Campaign. Her recent music video “Gloom” is now on display at the HafenKunstKino in Dusseldorf, Germany. Shots Magazine featured Jane as a New Director in 2018. Most recently, she has been awarded the Commercial Directors Diversity Program (CDDP) fellowship for 2019, was featured in SHOOT 2019 New Directors Showcase, as well as winning a 1.4 Award for her US Paralympics spot featuring Paralympian Colleen Young.
